2026 Grounding & Bonding: Building Safe, Reliable Electrical Systems

Thursday, October 1, 2026 6:00 PM - Thursday, October 29, 2026 8:00 PM (CDT)

Description

INSTRUCTOR: Phil Wentz, PE

TITLE: Vice President & Principal | McClure Engineering

EXPERIENCE: Phil is an accomplished electrical and acoustical engineering professional at McClure Engineering. With extensive experience in power systems, AV technology, and acoustical design, he brings a unique perspective to complex building and infrastructure projects.

COURSE OVERVIEW: Grounding and bonding are among the most critical—and often misunderstood—elements of electrical system design and installation. More than a code requirement, proper grounding protects people, equipment, and facilities while ensuring reliable system performance.

This course provides a practical understanding of grounding and bonding principles by connecting the science behind electrical systems with the requirements of the National Electrical Code® (NEC®). Participants will explore how properly designed grounding systems improve safety, facilitate effective fault clearing, protect sensitive equipment, and support today's increasingly complex electrical infrastructure.

Designed for electricians, electrical contractors, engineers, inspectors, utility professionals, and industrial maintenance personnel, this course combines foundational theory with real-world applications to strengthen decision-making in the field.

INCLUDES: Includes study manual and certificate of completion.

VIRTUAL MEETING LINK: The Microsoft Teams virtual meeting link will be emailed to registered attendees by the end of the day Tuesday, September 29.
